Life is Good Except for the Friggin Stroke

Stroke Survivor Story Intro - 1
This blog will not be about a fantastic recovery that I’ve made or just about my stroke because believe me, I have not made a fantastic recovery, yet. It will be about the fantastic recovery I will make and how I will do it. And hopefully inspire a lot of you to do the same. And this blog is coming from a stroke survivor who is now going through it with you. The reason I want to do it this way is that there are a lot of blogs out there by stroke survivors who already made the journey successfully and are speaking to us in hindsight and a lot of times they don’t mention the daily frustration that occurs on the journey and rightly so because they don’t want the blog to be a downer. I don’t want this blog to be a downer either but I want it to be honest. “Life is good, except for the friggin’ stroke!” And honestly I don’t like the friggin’ stroke!
“What I’d like to do in this blog is to give you an idea of what I do on a daily basis to try and get more functionality back in my hand and body.I might mention here that at the present time I do have a lot of functionality, I walk without a cane and my left arm has quite a lot of range of motion, tight, but almost as good as new! But I do work on other parts of my body, too, because a lot of muscle has been lost to atrophy. And this should be true for all of you because you don’t want to lose any functionality that you do have and by not doing exercises for your good half you could lose what you already have. So I also work on my shoulder more, biceps and triceps because these are the muscle groups that I have lost the most. And I'm macho (vain) and want my arms back!
