Things went well Today!

Today is Monday and things are going well so far. I have some residual function in my affected hand and I was able to pick up coins much more easily today then I did last week. Also, I had to drive the car today and I was able to open and close the car door using my affected hand. Also, I was able to zip up my jacket. These three things are major accomplishments for me and I'm a happy camper.

Sometimes people ask me how I like to be treated and I tell them I like to be treated like anyone else without physical challenges. When people treat you like you are handicapped at some point you will start believing you are and I think that is exactly what you don't want. So every chance you get try to act as normal as possible. Open the door, butter that piece of bread, sweep the floor, make the bed, you get the idea. Will the things that used to do before using two hands or one hand edition non-dominant hand is affected use it anyway to do the things you used to use your dominant hand for. So remember, to be normal you have to act normal. You are what you believe.
