Hand of Hope

Over the last 9 days since my last post I've been searching the Internet looking for new types of exercises to use on my hand and also for new tools or equipment that I could use to exercise my hand to bring it back strength and functionality when I came across the Hand of Hope.

The Hand of Hope is a robotic hand device that uses an electromyograph to power a robotic hand that is strapped to the affected hand and assists in opening and closing the affected hand.

This device is not currently offered in the United States but there is a study going on in New York City that is testing the efficacy of the device so that it may be sold in the United States. Click here to go to the study flyer to get more information. You can also go to their website to gain more information on the device itself.

Luckily, I am close enough to New York City that I can become part of the research and use the device for six
weeks. I will be sure to post my findings when the study is over so that I can pass them on to all of you.
