Depression again!

What I‘d like to do today is to talk about depression again.  It’s not exactly my favorite topic, but it is very important because it can cut into your recovery journey a whole lot.  As I mentioned in a different location on the site.  I had a bout of depression early on in my journey.  This cost me a lot of time and energy.  Although depression can happen early on or later it is still devastating.
The best advice I have is a quote that is usually attributed to Winston Churchill:

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

Here's a song to help you along: "If you're going through hell"  submitted by a friend.

This about says it all, but it is very difficult to practice in real life.  But, it can be done and I suggest you have it taken care of, as soon as possible.  Don’t become more disabled!

I hope the majority of you don’t have depression.  But for those of you that do.  I can sympathize with you because I’ve been there and done that.  And I was able to get out of it.  Go see a professional and don’t let this devil get you down!

I could probably write a lot more about depression.  But from what I’ve seen, they say you should keep your blog posts short and not ramble on.

So that’s it for now.  I hope you are all doing well.

Please - ramble on..... Especially about depression, it's huge in the stroke community. Plus I can't be the only one who rambles.

I so agree with that quote - great song for when you need reassurance.

Thank you for contacting me. It's good to know that people are benefiting from my story. This is what I hoped would happen with the site. To help people with my experience as a stroke survivor. I would also like to get some dialogues going so that people would benefit from more stroke survivors stories. Especially how their strokes manifested themselves. I believe this would help people not just stroke survivors to know what to expect if another stroke befalls them or to help care-givers know what to expect if the person they are caring for has another stroke. but let me stop rambling on.

By the way are you a stroke survivor? And if so, how did your stroke manifest itself?

I am doing well and coming to terms with my predicament. However, I also continue to do OT so that I keep getting better day by day!

again, thanks for contacting me.

Regards,

Van - Giving up is not an option!
